Career Pathway & Internship Coordinator
Essential Duties (not all inclusive):
Career Advising/Student Engagement
- Assist prospective and current students with career goals, self assessments, goal setting, and research to create career plans aligned with academic goals
- Administer and interpret career assessments, offering resources and tools for career exploration
- Provide career education through individual/group sessions (in-person/virtual)
- Advise students on entering the workforce and collaborate with faculty to integrate career-focused activities into courses
- Manage career office referrals and follow up with students
- Create and maintain career resources and services platforms
- Support academic liaison, CCP success coaching, and career development cross-training
Internship Coordination
- Act as a contact for student and employer inquiries, placements, and evaluations
- Support students through the internship process, ensuring a positive experience
- Collaborate with faculty and employers to create internship opportunities and placements
- Develop and maintain resources and outreach to increase internship access
- Track internship opportunities and assess the effectiveness of placements
Job Search Assistance/Employer Engagement
- Provide resume/job search training and develop job preparation resources
- Work with employers to coordinate internship and job placements
- Offer job market data to students and collaborate with Financial Aid on work-study opportunities
- Develop relationships with employers for experiential learning and professional growth
- Administer surveys and events to engage employers and assess their needs
Outreach & Event Management
- Create marketing strategies for outreach to students and employers
- Coordinate outreach activities, presentations, and events with internal/external partners
- Plan signature events, including job fairs and workshops
- Manage career services webpages and social media presence to maximize engagement
Reporting & Data Management
- Track and report on career services and internship activities, generating monthly and annual reports
- Monitor data in career services management systems and track employer contacts
- Assist Director with KPIs to align with college goals and student outcomes
Department Support
- Support career planning and internship opportunities aligned with College goals
- Participate in professional development and adjust services based on research and feedback
- Assist Director with fiscal management and attend relevant meetings
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, Psychology, Business, Communications, or related field; Master's degree in Student Affairs/Higher Education, School Counseling; Career Coaching preferred
Experience: in any of the following: talent
acquisition/recruitment, career exploration/development, academic/career advising, employer relations/staffing or other related fields that involve extensive public/employer contact; experience in career services or other student services area at the college/university level preferred
